Wow, great deal. If you want a working set-up it's around $10.000, and maybe cheaper If you go for a ninja recording set-up. If I didn't bought the FS100 last year and saved my money I bought it right away.
Now I doubt on how much more gigs (day's of work) or more money per gig I get. I think it will get me better/more freelance jobs compared to the FS but I am not sure enough to loan.
Can't think for to long, I guess it is sold out before friday.
For sure, but a step up to tru 4:2:2 HD and when you safed money again you can go to SSD and RED workflow. When Scarlet records to the Ninja, it's limited to 1080P, right?

A RED is for the longterm so you can build up.
I want to go R3D right away but I heard lot's of people who goes with Ninja first.
I'd be happy with 1080P - dynamic-range is really all I'm after. I already have a BMC MFT order, but this deal from RED is making me think quite a bit...

C100 is going to hit the shops soon. Smart tactics by RED.
I'd wager this is more to get the cash of people who would be interested in the new Sony 'F' camera coming end of Oct. In my mind the C100 and Scarlet are aimed at very different markets.

Whether it is 6k or 7k USD, at the end of the day it is cash. If someone is ready to use that money to buy a C100 or F*** is immaterial. When a camera with more than 4 times the resolution is offered at a price point close to a Full HD camera, a customer is likely to think whether to buy that or not. A lot of people who have no need for that resolution will also think twice. I am sure a lot of people who could not buy this camera will now buy it and will put that Scarlet to good use. This makes the competition interesting. Good for the consumer.
Wonder if the new GoPro3 announcement had anything to do with this price drop, lol
(yes I know they are not even remotely the same class of product)
