Any of you all ever been there? I might be takin' a trip there sometime soon... (depending on certain circumstances) How's it like?

Depends where you go; where too ?

I lived in Augusta, GA from 1991 tp 1994

Atlanta could be fun; Savanna is supercool.

Cicumstances like what?? You battery life on your laptop?? J/k
No it is very green and very nice. Humided though. And if you are not use to it. It feels like you are wet and sweaty all day kind of odd.

You acclimate to the weather.

I enjoyed it in hindsight; but I was a surfer dude from San Diego so there was shock and awe going on; sides I was with some dumbass girl I should not have been with

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is my favorite book. I've wanted to go to Savanna ever since I read it for the first time.

That's how it is. Green is what comes to mind when I remember Atlanta - been there twice. Really nice place.

Atlanta is nice, I have a cousin who lives there. Savannah is really sweet. If you're ever in Southern GA, check out Cumberland Island. Really cool place to get some awesome footage/pics. It used to be owned by the Carnegie family and they have this burned down mansion there. There's wild horses running on the beach. Look it up: http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/cumberland/

I live in North FL, so if you end up in southern GA let me know!

I keep thinking of that song "Georgia on my mind" by Ray Charles. I have never been to Georgia though, seems like a nice place. In fact, I really haven't ever been in that area of the country....

I'm originally from Minnesota, but moved here to work in a suburb of Atlanta almost 10 years ago. I love it. Yes- it's a beautiful, green state. The mountains to the north are great. The Buckhead area is the cool place "to be." Every city has that area, like Uptown in Minneapolis. Lots of great night clubs and places to eat. Seems to be a good freelance market here, but I'm gainfully employed so I haven't had to test that yet.

Yeah- summers get hot and humid. Air conditioning is your friend. You don't have fricken cold and snowy winters like back up north though. Right now it's wavering between 60's to 80's during the days and 30's to 50's at night.
Atlanta has been good to us.

I have relatives there.

They are all much nicer (for the most part) than up here in Jersey. But, the pace is all too slow for my taste.

Dang it... I don't want to go there :( A friend of mine might move away to Georgia... and I'm sad about it. Thanks for the info everyone... I guess I'm just trying to get the fact that my friend will probably move to Georgia in my head.

In addition to Buckhead, Little Five Points is a cool area to hang out in Atlanta. I spent a lot of time in Athens (Univ. of Georgia) when I was younger because I had friends who went to school there. Great college town with lots of bars/music/young girls. Loved it when I was in my early twenties, but don't think I'd enjoy now that I'm older and uglier. It's hot and humid a good 6 months out of the year.

Hudson, did you ever go to the Masters in Augusta? That's something I'd love to do.

Guys-
If I was single and 20 years younger I would get my behind to Atlanta. Georgia Peaches!

I lived in GA for twenty-one years, I'm twenty-three. >=DDDD

I just moved from GA to CA almost a year ago, and I promise you... I'm moving back to Georgia.

I lived in Smyrna/Marietta, Kennesaw, Buckhead, Union City, just like... everywhere. It's not exactly a super fun place to be, but it's a lot more comfy. Aside from the weather, which switches EVERY freaking day just about.

And the chix are teh hotness in GA. >=DDDD

i'm going to sell pesticide contracts this summer in ATL.

I work mon-sat, and sundays off. I can't wait to be sweating my ass off =)
