Genuine or Fake?

I have looked through pages and pages of feedback. The comments vary in originality and are from buyers with a wide range of feedback scores. The seller has sold many similar items. From what I understand about feedback fraud, there seems to be no red flags other than the extremely high number of sales, which a fraudulent seller would most likely not want, in order to avoid standing out.

The price is $10 lower than B&H and includes free shipping. This may be a red flag.

Open the can. I must be missing something.

Totally OT (sorry!), but this immediately reminded of that Simpsons ep where Homer unknowingly becomes a missionary. The gag this relates to is when Marge calls into her "international" CB (?) radio "Hello...(hello...hello). Is there there anybody out there?", to the tune of Comfortably Numb. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, or if I've taken the poster above horribly out of context, but thanks for making me LOL. :)

Anyhoo... Is there any chance you can purchase a cheaper item to see how it is dealing with them? That way, if you do get burned, it's for only a couple of $$. Besides, wouldn't the shipping from HK to ISR cost more than the item itself? That alone makes me think bait'n'switch. But I do not have any experience buying from this company.

That's the song I was thinking of.

Shipping is free. Frequently, I purchase things from Hong Kong that, even after being shipped here, cost far less than buying them locally. I'm expecting the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 to arrive soon and wanted to protect it from the get go.

They're selling lots of different filters. Could 25,000 people be fooled? Or, if it is counterfeit, perhaps it's as good as or better than the original. This is not unheard of. Could these 25,000 people be fictional? I located two of the three negative feedback comments. One accused them of counterfeiting. They responded with a denial. The second one said he never received the item, to which they responded that he should have communicated with them.

Am I missing a way to bring up only negative feedback?

good counterfeits are all over ebay...i'd reccomend not buying on there. just check out the chinese ebay Ioffer. loads of top quality knockoffs come from here and are then sold on ebay by westerners for a big profit. if you can find it cheap on ebay there is a reason, its a high quality fake.

Well, I think ya'll are right. Plus, their description included the word alloy, which seems to make no sense and is not included in the product's B&H page. I was under the impression that all of B+W's filter rings are brass.

Can you ask the seller to see a picture of the green sticker? Though, that might not tell the whole story. If the attaching of the sticker is a new development and this was pre-purchased long ago, it wouldn't be there anyway. But if it is...

Personally, my gut on this says its real. Sure, it can be a fake but the language doesn't have the smell of a fraud...no, "thank you and God Bless" crap. Plus, I think if they were trying to scam people, they'd be selling these at bulk for a MUCH higher savings than $12.00 bucks. I'd pull the trigger.
