Genuine Oktava?`

Oktave USA ... The Sound Room ... both claim to be "the only dealer for genuine Russian-made Oktava" microphones. What's the story?

I never saw the Sound Room refer to themselves as the 'only' dealer, in fact, a look over the website doesn't mention it anywhere I can see. Oktava-USA is an authorized dealer, but the Sound Room is as well. No idea what the deal is with them calling themselves the only dealer. I have one on the way from the Sound Room now, and I'm pretty sure it is the real deal. I'll make a check of it when it gets here.

The only thing I know is that Sound-room has been great to deal with, and (thanks to Matt) has been offering a DVXUser discount for some time.

Bought mine from them, and would again, in a heart beat.

They might both be OK but The Sound Room has been GREAT to work with. They would be my first choice unless I went for a modified Oktava then it's Oktava Mod.

Do yourself a favor and use the search option on this website and you will see that the Sound-Room is the place of choice by everybody here for a real Oktava as well as great personal service.
