general error - out of memory?

When I try to put more than 1 clip into a sequence i get this error and it does not work. But i can create as many sequences as I want and put 1 clip in each sequence so i dont think im "out of memory"

anyone have this problem or know a way around it?
 
should I? I dont know how to do this? I can still edit my older projects so i'm not sure what the problem is. I'm glad I switched over to premiere at work, just wish I could afford the change at home.
