Gear Evaluation advice wanted please.

I have decided to part with three support pieces. The first is a Sachtler Video 14 head. This is not your usual Video 14, when I sent it in for servicing through WF White a few years back they told me that it was rated for 30+ pounds and was originally used on a studio dolly. In very good condition, it has "Made in Western Germany" marked on it and I have used it for years with no issues. It is one of those things you just get used to its feel. This model has a 75mm ball and easily handled very heavy rigs, has only three settings on the tilt and pan wheels. Should I keep it or sell it? What price point would be fair for it? I used it on my Gitzo legs which I am keeping.
I have a Sachtler DV4 Tripod head and aluminum legs with centre and floor spreaders. They have worked for a living but are also in very good condition and suitable for a lighter load than the Video 14.
Any advice is greatly appreciated and I know selling this type of gear online is tough because of the shipping costs.
Cheers
Brian

I don't know how much your gear is worth or what you're expecting, but in general people don't purchase tripods like they used to anymore. And the newer generation doesn't value them the same way as they do gimbals and drones and sliders, which they use way more in content creation.

The truth is that most people who use a tripod are only using it for interviews or light panning with their very light cameras (most less than 5lbs), and they can find a suitable tripod for less than $500 to do this as the performance of the hardware has drastically improved over the years because of the state of the industry and its competition.

For those who require excellent end-to-end performance and control of payloads, they are most likely already set with their own investment.

If you're still working a lot, it's probably better to hold on to it for now, and when it must be sold I would start locally on CL or forums like this which may have a few members in your area.

The only stories I ever hear about tripod sales come from buyers who scored great deals.

Unfortunately(or fortunately, depending on your perspective), NorBro is mostly right. If you need to buy, it's a buyers market, because the gear isn't valued by those that don't know/care and/or don't need, so it's driven down the used market. Real world example: at the end of '19(I think) I picked up a Vinten 250 and mini-studio pedestal(I really only wanted the head anyway and looked at the ped as a free bonus) in excellent condition for $3K(!). These are current model items that still go for over $15K new, today.

Thanks Gents, I think it will look fine in the edit suite... maybe turn it into a lamp. I know that I can sell the DV4 kit or at least it won't be lonely on eBay with all the others.

I also have a Video 14 lying around.
In good condition they go for around 1200$

It's a great head that has quite some range, it can handle quite some weight for it's size & weight.

Thanks I will definitely sell it then, should be put to goo use and I can use the money for gear I need. Cheers SpaceCowboy.
