Garden State

Re: Garden State

Yeah Barry! The Professional was a great movie! My friends and I talk about that one all the time.

...Wow flashback, a long time ago, I wanted to write a script for Natalie Portman as Matilda now grown up and now "A professional" herself. This was before I learned that sequels rarely work!

Re: Garden State

LOL...

HAHA, I went to find a quote from Portman from Episode II...and I found this...MUCH better...

Portman:
[Filming Star Wars]"What I would do between scenes was go somewhere and cry. When you watch the film, you can actually tell, you can see in lots of scenes that I've been crying and my eyes are red. It showed on film, and I learned my lesson"
– Premiere (UK) – June, 2002

I guess she feels the same as we do. ;D

Re: Garden State

Sweet!!! I just found out it's playing here...I think i'm going to go see it in an hour...hopefully it will keep playing and not go out due to the hurricane...

Re: Garden State

Looks like Garden State is expanding big time on 8/20. I am a manager at a theatre and we haven't gotten our bookings yet, but according to the Fox Searchlight site we're gonna be getting it. Check out the .pdf file below. It lists theatres geographically. If you don't see your city, look for major cities in the area, as this is where the distribution branches are located.

Re: Garden State

Please go see Garden State. It's sooo good. I just got back from it right now, and it's my new favorite movie.

The story is phenominal (i know i spelled that wrong) and the character arcs are amazing.

The lighting and cinematography I can only dream of being that good for my films. Each scene was done so nicely...niceley? whatever, anyways its great.

I'm going to go see it again. It's got me in the same mood that Lost In Translation left me in...****in' bliss.

I CAN'T wait until he gets to make another film.

Oh and Natalie Portman is soo goddamn hot in this, total the girl next door- if the girl next door was the girl of my dreams-type girl.

This movie is the first movie I left the theater getting exactly what I hoped for, which was soo much better than most movies...except for Star Wars Episode II...that film was amazing too...Ok if you're reading this and you didn't laugh, go to the hospital cause you're dead.

P.S. If you read this please post with at least a "Cool I'll check it out" or "You're a tard, quit posting." That way I know I didn't just spend an hour writing this for nothing...

Yeah that's right...an hour...so what?...I can't type fast...and womens gymnastics is on...what?

Great movie.

Re: Garden State

Patience, Grasshopper. No one's ignoring you.

Natalie Portman as Matilda is the reason why I'll probably never see her as "hot" -- she's always going to be 10 to me, and that's just creepy.

Re: Garden State

ohhh I thought he was talking about that one movie called Matilda about that girl who had super powers or whatever...directed by Danny Devito.

Re: Garden State

Oh yeah...garden state is coming out a week early here. Wasn't suppose to be out until next weekend but its going to be here this weekend...I'm pyched.

Re: Garden State

I saw the movie tonight. It was fantastic.

Very cool that 2 of my favorite movies from the last year, this and The Station Agent, were shot in my home state, New Jersey.

Sure, we might be the ecological armpit of the country and our government is corrupt, but our films rock.

Re: Garden State

I agree...this movie was very good. It does have its little flaws here and there..byt hey what movie doesn't these days? :P Portmans performance is just awesome. She rocks
