I hate to do a blatant hype but Garageband 2 is the most fun I have had in a long time.
I plug in my acoustic guitar into my mac....and it comes out amplified with a variety of various amp configurations. From Edge to jazzy jazz.
There is a ton of user groups as well, and plug-ins. I bought 200 guitar virtual instruments for $20 and they sound incredible
Put a drum loop in and away ya go....great relief from editing.
Best $49 I've ever spent for a creative tool.
