how do i adjust things like gamma and matrix and stuff so far the setting ive come up with for the best film look have been f5 24p f6 whatever setting that is. i really do wanna mess with the settings and such but would like a basic ground for reference.

Re: gama?

You should really pick up Barry's book. It sounds like you don't have a huge amount of experience with a camera such as the DVX, it would be an indispencible tool for you.

I think we scared geniuselvs away.

You comin' back? How's it going?

You are required to report back! :)

Re: gama?

Yea, it did take me a whole hour and 18 minutes to suggest Barry's book. Perhaps he felt neglected. ;)

Re: gama?

Settings change depending on what your shooting. Knowing what each setting does, allows you to custom fit the settings to your shot.

I don't think you need the book to experiment with the settings. You just need the time and some methodology.

Most likely anyone can read Barry's book/watch DVD and learn something new. However, if you aren't very "learned," like me, you will need a close and slow reading..no lazy skipping over stuff.  I slept through all of Video University.  Truly, some of the material is in the MANUAL, but the manual doesn't have much explanation.

So--here is a book Quiz question..do we have takers?

Explain "Diffraction" and what f-stop is recommended to avoid this effect? :

Re: gama?

I can't explain it as well as Barry. But it happens after F stop true 16. ;D

Re: gama?

If you read through the manual it tells you exactly how to change the settings. Barry's book is key also, but you gotta read the manual.
