Gain stage for lectrosonic UCR411A into SD788T

Hi all. Was hoping to get thoughts on what is the best signal/gain stage path when using a lectrosonics UCR411A in conjunction with a Sound Devices 788T. It has been suggested that I run my UCR411A rx at -25 and then set my input to mic level on the SD788T. Setting it this way certainly gives me a much stronger signal on the input as opposed to setting the input to line level. Am I doing the right thing? Thanks in advance
Matt

The Lectro receiver output level control is an attenuator. The signal starts out at line level internally in the receiver and then gets reduced by the attenuator for output. Then feeding it into a mic level input on the recorder immediately gets it boosted back up again in the preamps. Why take it down and then immediately back up in the next step? Set the receiver to a nominal 0dBu output, send it to an input set to line level on the recorder, turn on tone in the receiver and set the recording level trim to -20dBFS.

Hi Steve. Thanks so much for your response to this. And yes what you have written makes sense to me. I will certainly be trying this gain stage out. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again :)
