Gaffer's reel? do people have them?

... to me, its kinda an awkward area because on some shoots, I'm placing the exact lights where the dp wants, and on others, they say the sorta vague look they want, and then I figure out the rest and light it up

Besides notable projects, and referrals from past dp's, how do you really show your credibility to people in need of a gaffer. Rigging & lighting setup photos?

that's tough. i'm only thinking in terms of what would excite me and that would be a personal recommendation from the DP. I'd probably give him/her a call too to ask about your temperament on set, that sort of thing.
