G5 Video Card

What are the options of videocard upgrades for a duel G5 Mac. Right now I have the GeForce 6600 Model, nVIDIA 128mb ram. I also have ghosting problems on my 2nd display which is a Apple cinema 23"HD display. Will a new video card help?

I believe your only option for the AGP slot on this is the nVidia 6800 ultra ddl, which is probably hard to come by these days since all newer MAC's have conformed to the PCIe slot, and we all know Apple moves forward, not backwards on these matters.

Last time I looked on the otherworldcomputing website, there were 2 ATI cards: a 9800 (about $200 and not very highly reviewed) and an X800 XT (over $300 and well reviewed). The X800 has been backordered everywhere lately.

Will the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 run in that dual G5? It's a killer card to use with the Cinema Displays.

i've got the x800...upgraded from the ati 9600xt

it is a very good card, but still not without flaws. i would LOVE to upgrade to a mac pro with an 1900xt. sadly that is still far off.

I still experience some ghosting...after working with a macpro with an x1900 i might be a little biased though...

i got it from academicsuperstore.com but they don't offer it anymore...i may end up selling it because i really want to upgrade to a mac pro

I wonder why I've never noticed ghosting with my 1.8DP's stock 5200 card. Am I not seeing an obvious problem, or is the cheaper card better in some ways?
