G5 to HDTV

I'm looking to add an LCD tv for my clients to view as well as to test projects for broadcast, and don't want to loose one of my computer monitors in order to hook up the tv. I want to be able to look at HD as well as SD. Can anyone lead me to best solution. Thanks.

Not for a G5. You have to either use one of the DVI-out ports or else get a proper capture card. The BM Intensity cards only work on intel-baed Macs with PCI-e.

Will and Noah are right. You'll have to go with a lower end AJA/Blackmagic card that is compatible with your G5 (which is PCI-x, unless it is the very last generation of G5's which were PCI-Express).

The BM Intensity only works with Intel-based Mac Pro's right now (PCI-Express), but they say they will update the drivers to work with PCI-Express G5's some time. I don't know how recent that is, you may want to call them if you have a last generation G5.

But yeah, if you have a PCI-X G5, then an AJA/BM capture card is your only option.
