G5 or Powerbook

Hey everyone. I am trying to decide whether or not to buy a dual G5 or a G4 powerbook 17". They are both around the same price. My biz partner already has a G5 and I have access to them at school also. I was thinking about the G4 for portability, but the G5 is so much more cluck for my student buck. What does everyone think?

Its all a matter of what you are planning on using it for and what works for you. If you want mobility the powerbook is sufficient to run final cut and all your other editing and post goodies. If you want something with a bit more power and want results fast, get the G5. The powerbook will do the job, but the g5 will do it faster. Both will have the same results. Do you want to be able to easily take your editing system with you or do you want the power, answer that and you've answered your question.

If you're planning on using Motion ever, I'd go with the G5. Motion is a processing power and RAM hog; you'll need every ounce of power you can scrape together.

Done both,
G5 dualie rocks hands down.
If you don't NEED the portability you will be much happier with the tower.
