Hey Jonathan, I visited the cinemek website recently and there's a msg there that says pre-orders should be resent?? I'm not sure if I understood right. Which preorders were lost? The ones that were made right now, the ones that were made before the website colapsed? Does this mean I will have a new place on the line different from the one I had before?

Rawfa,
Please forward any email confirmation to orders@cinemek.com.

Mihai,
As I have stated before, we are a small company working on a very large project. As a result we cannot hire a team of people to attack a certain situation such as larger companies do. We have been diligently working on this project for over a year now without seeing one dime. Even the biggest of corporations such as Microsoft and Panasonic have delays. Are they not “serious” companies? The forums allow you to speak directly to the power structure of our company. Please do not abuse this privilege with posts intended on marring our name.

Someone recently asked Jonathan if the pre-order information is lost, he said no. And now, they want everyone to send the info again - after all, it WAS lost (unless he says now it was lost in between the two moments, and make us even more distrustful). This is a pattern characteristic to Cinemek, I'll say just this for now, if Jonathan or anyone else wants to challenge me, I will gladly exemplify my statement.

Dude....I called it a couple of weeks ago in a different thread.....

Here is an interesting idea....

Preorder info is not lost, and no, we are not running our server from a MacMini. Our host is going to be working over the next week to get all of the elements online including the forum back up and running. Thanks for your patience all!

What can I say! What really ticks me off is that by chance I read that we have to re-send the confirmation e-mails back to them..what the f@@k! Are you freaking kidding me ...and that is going to hold in a court of law? Seriously people..I can forward an email and falsify everything...even my position in line...not that hard to do. I guess we got to be honest right? As I see it...this whole process has to be started again to be fair to all...and it sucks cause I had a nice position (within the first 50).

What even ticks me off...I don't even check Cinemek.com. That website is like a graveyard...nothing happens....so since when have they been asking for the pre-order emails? Was I to late in reading that info? SO now I'm screwed?

I can understand delays, unfortunate family crisis and other things...but something has to change people...

No you can't. Your preorder reverence number can be crosschecked. If we see anyone “falsifying” their place in line their preorder will be deleted. Some of the email data has been corrupted so that is mainly what we need.

The message has only been up for a few days. The reason we are in here is so the message is spread. No worries, we will not have to re-do anything.

Take it easy my good fellows... I have been in touch with Jonathan and my opinion is that he is a serious, a honest and a brave business innovator. I've been changed a lot of mail with a sort of attractive business purposes and he has always an answer, quickly as possible and wisely as usual. He just want to sell the best/proper product to each customer. It is Dan - yup, that one LINK, himself to say it! Do you remember? Page 1 of this same thread...

I believe in this starter of 26/27 years old that releases «the BEST 35mm adapter out there» as you said filmmaker1977, isn't it?

Go ahead, Jonathan! And about lack of anything, for sure, you will not have lack of customers with your superior product/know-how. It is a PRO (since 1993/94) speaking...

Emanuel,
I am not sure what answers are you waiting from me (if any) in regards to another company, or what? I am not sure I fully understand where you are going in your post about me? Could you explain please? If your post was not addressed to me, please disregard.

Dan,
you are a reference here, as all we know. When the subject is the 35mm adaptors and you are saying something about that, it's impossible not to pay attention what you are posting. Your thoughts are gold. What I wanted to say it was what I was saying. And a mere thought to all this community. If Dan is saying what he is saying, what's possible to say against. As I was kidding before -- as for sure you are remembered, Dan, you are the King and Jonathan is the Prince. Period. OK there are other Prince Consorts that have been proving their skills.

BTW, I'm looking for a solution to 1/2" cameras like the new Sony PDW-F330/350 series or even to 2/3" chip ones like the GV Infinity or the JVC HD7000. My idea would be as relay lens but if it's not possible now, at least, via step ring. What do you think? You opened a thread to that -- do you remember? LINK

Emanuel,
Why don't you send me the lens mount you want to use (be it for 1/2" or 2/3") and I will look after the relay lens and you'll be done with it once and for all.
How is that?

Bummer. This morning I checked the website and was all excited when I saw the demo section was back on. I thought there would be a bunch of new stuff from the moving gg G35...oh sight.

As I have stated before, we are a small company working on a very large project.

Then other 35mm adapter producers working on HUGE project. Because they got working prototype, they selling it, possible new customers can get feedback from relible users, you can find detailed specs and pix from their website. Very many producers have had product upgrade already. Sometimes thing improves itself by "wasting" customers money. But it's logical - market's left hand helps market's right hand. It all seems reliable, developing and growing market already.
But i'm sorry, it makes smirk a little - every time i ask some pix or(anything else)of cinemek's adapter, somebody strats convince me that cinemeks adapter exist at all. It seems sometimes that people who got serious crush cinemek's dreamproduct don't belive themselves that thing exist.
More Faith into Your hearts!

I think all of this could have been easily solved by giving each buyer the option to buy the static version at their "own risk" and giving them the option to update latter. True, HD is around the corner, but there's a A LOT of people who are not even thinking about switching to HD in the next 2, 3 or more years. I'm sure hundreds would have bought the static version anyway...and that money could have been invested by cinemek in research, tests, etc.

I think that all the anger toward the G35 will evaporate as soon as the unit is available.

I hope the cinemek crew doesn't get too upset by it. I hope they see it as a flattering thing, that people are so excited by their creation that they can't control their emotions.

That said...where's the new footy guys?

Guys, with all due respect, this is exactly the kind of negative ugliness that we're exorcising from the board right now.

Bringing a new product to market is always difficult and usually leads to delays. The HVX was in short supply, people screamed. The HD100 was exceptionally scarce, and people screamed. The HVX FireStore isn't out yet; it was promised for March, and yes, people are screaming.

If there's one thing we've learned from all this, it's that you should never count on an unreleased product being in your hands at any particular point in time. Things happen. Delays happen. Shortages happen. Stuff happens. Products come out late. It happens. JVC HD100 users were shown a prototype of the FireStore back at NAB, and here it is a YEAR later and it just now came out.

It happens.

It was a mistake on his part to allow preorders, I think. It's one reason I won't take preorders on any of my products either -- I won't make it available for sale until I have it in stock. I'd recommend any new entrepreneur to follow the same path -- preorders are trouble.

In short, let Jonathan get his product out. Talk about it when it's out. But don't use this forum to drag him or his company or his product through the mud.
