I just got the confirmation email from Cinemak.

I am officially #21 in line (not bad for getting up at 3:00 in the morning to get my place).

Damn, I just got my email. I ordered an hour in and came up at #76. I hope they make at least a run of 100. I'm jonesin'.

Hhahaha, i just found out i was number 11, but they reserved the first 10 for beta testers...so i really am #1 on the list. woo hoo!

I haven't received my confirmed number yet, but I preordered at about 10am or so, which means I'll probably recieve my G35 next December. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

Boy I hope that first batch is huge.

ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!!!

Anyone that's on the Cinemek forums, relay this back to Jonathan and the guys. I don't know if the vibrating G35 has been finalized yet, but can someone bring this up anyways? (I'm supposed to have an account, but I never got the confirming email and I can't start a new one and I don't know who to contact--anyhoo)

[in reference to the mini35]If it oscillates.. it is visually more random, so as the ground glass gets slower you dont see the "wax on, wax off" grain effect of the grain.. it moves up and down and round and round so it mimics real film more accurately.
Its exactly like when you buy a random orbiting sander for painting the old Chevy.. orbiting is better because it doesn't leave the swirls.

I wouldn't want this kind of thing to be a problem when people shoot in 60p on the HVX in high shutter speeds or something like this. The site says "vibrating GG," but I don't know how random that process actually is. Up and down vibration with a little side to side leniency would look pretty filmic IMO.

could someone tell me why cinemek mounts are so expensive? what is their specificity in regard to classic filter rings?
