FX windows taking forever to load

Before I had to wipe and reinstall my system, I was able to click the fx icon on a clip or right click -> add non realtime fx and the corresponding windows would open a second or two later. (plugin manager, I think) Now, when I try to do either option, Vegas takes it's sweet time, usually around two minutes to open either window. This only happens when i'm first adding an effect, such as loading one of theJHM presests. Once the fx are applied, they open instantly, since it's the effects editor and not the plugin manager.

Any ideas why this is and if there's anything I can do?

Never seen that behavior before, but it's more than likely an OS issue, not a Vegas issue.

I didn't think it was, but wanted to check. If anyone else has this problem, here's what I started doing today, which actually works out pretty well. I've added the plugin manager window to my array of tabs like project media, video effects, transitions, etc.... Now, Vegas itself takes a couple minutes to start up, but once it's up and running, no more right clicking and waiting. All my presets and audio plugins are right there.

a couple of minutes to start up? geez. what are the specs on your machine? On my 8 core, its less then 3 seconds. my p4 was like 15-25 seconds.

Its nice that you found a workaround to your problem but I would consider re-installing the software or the OS itself. a problem like that only leads to worse things.
