FW 800 port non-functional

I have a 24" iMac with 4 GB RAM and 2.8 Core Duo. Just today my FW 800 port stopped recognizing any drive I plugged into it. My two FW 800 drives both mounted to another computer successfully, and I was able to mount them via FW 400, but not 800. I didn't force anything. Any ideas on how to get my 800 running again?

Well if the FW800 ports on the drives are okay, which seems the case as they mount elsewhere, then it seems you've burned out the iMac's port. So you'll have to take it into a shop to get fixed. I don't think there's a whole lot you can do on your own if you're confident the problem is on the iMac and not the drives/cables.
