I didn't know where to post this question so here it goes:

I'm preparing to throw a fundraising houseparty in December but was wondering whether December is the right month for that kind of party. Usually "suits" are not in a business mood around Christmas time but do you folks think that early December is good timing or I should postpone to January.

Re: fundraising

i think you have to pay attention to what the fiscal year is for who ever you are targeting. The end of that year is usually the worst time because budgets are all depleted.

Re: fundraising

great response. Thanks much! Now back to my research.

Re: fundraising

There are so many variables to that question. What are you trying to raise money for, how much, from whom, and what do they get out of it etc...

Any of the answers could influence when to have the fundraiser and how long it might take to get funding. Depending on your target audience’s end of year, I would argue that approaching them at the end of the year might be a good time so you can get on the upcoming years budget.

The key is to keep it simple. Good luck.
