Funding Sites

Does anyone know any legit funding sites?

I first found Kick Starter and it's very legit by how you must have an invite to get in and the money only goes through if the project is funded.

Someone showed me Indie Go Go and I'm not too sure about it. Anyone know anything about indie go go?

and any other funding sites that you know is legit and nothing off?

Chris,

My hunch is that most funds through "crowd funding" sites actually come from people the filmmakers previously knew in some capacity, versus complete strangers. In other words, the crowd funding site is mostly a mechanism to facilitate reaching those you already know and maybe a few you don't.

Can you comment on your experience regarding my thoughts? Also, it appears as though successful campaigns have at least one "big" donor, say $2500 or $5000, rather than a bunch of $25 donors.....

i'm working on kickstarter right now and i didn't get an invite you just have to send them like a in depth outline of what you want. what your doing. and all that jazz like what would the people helping you out get. it's pretty simple and then you just build your page and launch it.

@MSpencer
I did that of sending Kick Starter an in depth outline of what I wanted and got an invite from the staff to make a project. You just need to be extremely detailed of how badly you want to do the project.

yeah i know the first time we submitted one i sent it from my iphone and well it was about a paragraph long.. we got denied.. haha the second time i made it like a page and a half and they were like... OK. haha so it is all about details to them...

goodluck on getting the funding..
