Functional equivalence of Oktava MK012 by Sennheiser or Schoeps?

If I am to buy the microphone I would go for the Oktava, but for a 3 day feature shot renting is cheaper. The rental company I am looking into only carries Sennheiser and Schoeps, so I wonder what microphones from these two brands would be the functional equivalence of the Oktava? Is it Sennheiser MKH30 and Schoeps MD441? Thanks a lot!
 
Sennheiser MKH30 is a figure-8 mic'. The MKH416 is a short-shutgun, and is the traditional workhorse for film sound. The MKH816 is the long-shotgun cousine of the `416, excellent for noisey exteriors. The MKH50 is the hyper-cardioid condensor in the MKH-series, and is well-suited to reflective interiors and small rooms.

IMHO, if you only have one mic in your kit, it should be a `416. They do have troubles with reflective interiors, though.

I'm unfamiliar with the Schoeps MD441. Are you perhaps referring to the Sennheiser MD441 (super-cardioid dynamic mic)?
 
Sorry I meant Schoeps MK41; MD441 is indeed Sennheiser. I originally have MKH50 in mind but the rental house does not have one--it carries MKH30, 40, 60, 70 as well as 416 and 816.
 
If it were me, I'd rent the 416 for exteriors, and the Schoeps 41 for interiors. I own both, and that is how I use them day to day.

Interestingly enough though, I was working as boom op. on an independent movie recently, and the production company was shooting with 2 cameras on interiors. One was always a wide shot, the other was a CU. I had to boom most of the interiors with an MKH 60 since I had to stay so far out of frame on account of the 'always rolling' wide shot cam. I was not happy with this siutation, but the MKH 60 did do a good job of grabbing all the dialog even though I was 4'-6' above the actors. I was only able to use the mixer's MKH 50 on two scenes in 4 days of shooting. (Oleg- insert comment of disgust here). : )

i did a commercial today closeups with lavalieres :-) as the dp like top lighting

you want one mic only, ask for schoeps cmt or sanken sc-3 e - these 2 workquit well interiors and exteriors better then any other shotgun .
