Pretty much I"m considering transfering to Full Sail for film. THoughts? Mostly I'm looking for information if anybody knows of if they liked teh school and thought it was worth it.

Transferring from where?

If you're looking for technical knowledge, Full Sail is all about that.

If you're looking for artistic knowledge, Full Sail isn't where you want to go.

There are some classes I've learned in, and some I haven't because I did my own short films before I came down here, and self taught myself things. Plus I hung around DVXuser a lot and learned from reading other people's posts on things...

It's kind of a trade off, if you already know some stuff, there are gonna be classes where you wanna shoot yourself. Then there's classes that you can learn a good amount in, in fields you're not so strong in.

But to be honest I learned the most from going out and making short films, music videos, commercials, etc outside of classes. It gives you a chance to have "real world education".

Is it worth it? Depends on how much you already know.

Full Sail is crazy expensive>

And it is not a magical place were anyone can go and walk out with incredible talent. It has some great programs and a good reputation, but it is like any other learning institution and it can only help develop the talent YOU HAVE NOW and you will get out of it what you put into it.

I know 2 guys that graduated from Full Sail. One works at Borders and the other at Staples. It is one of the better "Tech College" style industry schools, but it doesn't have magic powers, no school does. It really depends on your individual goals.

Ask your self what you want to do. And Where you want to do it? and then try and make an informed decision.

If you are not afraid of work and you got the cash to spend it could be a great experience.

I've been reading about it and it seems like the common consensus is that you get out of it what you put into it. I'm fully aware that one shouldn't walk into a school excpecting to be given a job.. that you have to actually put in the work and allow them to help you, not give to you.

I appreciate the advice guys thanks!

It's all good. I just happen to remember a lengthy discussion about full sail already, so I figured there'd have to be some useful info in there somewhere for you...
