Full HD Panasonic 300 camcorder series

Here's the camcorderinfo.com input on subject:

Unfortunately, the only 'no-brainer' I've checked it out is the D5 Mark II or perhaps one of the new Canon's (HF S10/100). It's 1/2.6" against 1/4.1" sensor size and 24Mbps vs. 17Mbps, though. And the HDC-HS300 is «the top-of-the-line high definition camcorder from Panasonic coming for 2009». Consumer side, of course. And beyond that?

The cannon has only 1 sensor, the Panasonic has 3!

Hmmm....three 1/4.1" sensors have a larger total surface area than one 1/2.6" sensor. Let's not forget that there are 1/4" sensors even in prosumer camcorders like the Sony FX7 or the new JVC GY-HM100.
The previous HD Panasonic consumer camcorders were pretty bad image wise compared to Canon, Sony or JVC counterparts.....The main problem was the small 1/6" sensors.

However, this new series of camcorders could be even better than what Sony or Canon has to offer!

I am very interested to see a comparison of images between the Canon HFS10 and this new Panasonic. For a long term doc I am shooting, I am planning on buying the Canon for a travel shoot but if the Panasonic is better in low light, I could be swayed toward it.
