A trusted source just told me that Sony is likely going to announce the new NEX-FF camera on September 24. I am still waiting to get some feedback from other sources to upgrade the rumor to SR5 level. The source told me that Sony worked very secretly for two years on that project. And there was and is a very tight collaboration between Sony-Zeiss and Olympus on that! The NEX-FF (final name still unknown) is a tiny bit bigger than the NEX-7, it will be the most compact digital interchangeable mount Full Frame camera of the world!

Stil to be confirmed: The camera will fetaure on sensor stabilization (5 axis IS from Olympus). Price will be in the same range of the RX1 and RX1R series (body only!). And there will be two Zeiss FF lenses too! Current E-mount lenses will work in crop mode on the camera.

This will be a very interesting camera to watch, but I must admit, I've definitely been expecting it ever since the introduction of the VG900. I'm curious as to how the edges of the frame are going to hold up given such a short flange distance and large sensor area to cover. I hope this issue is something they've worked very hard to mitigate. 3rd party mount lenses won't be affected, undoubtedly, but that does take away much of the portability factor.

" NEX-FF only 15% bigger than the NEX-7. Available in October.

The NEX-FF photo camera (final name still unknown) will have a
Sony NEX-7 similar design. But it is 15% more volume and has some 20% more weight than the NEX-7. As I told you before three different new FF sensors have been tested by Sony, 24, 32 and 36 Megapixel. I am yet not 100% sure but Sony may picked up the 32MP sensor. What I am sure about is that it will be announced along two Zeiss FF lenses. A zoom and a prime. The prime is 35mm f/2.8 (Note that Zeiss already made a Biogon 35mm f/2.8 as M-mount (here on eBay)). It is said that the camera will be announced on September 24 and shipment starts end of October. Price for the body is a bit less than $3000 (like the RX1 and RX1R series)."
