Full-Frame focal length example pics?

Where can I find full-frame focal length example pics?... All the lens review sites use DSLR with 1.5 crop factor.

Im especially interested in the focal length equivalent of the HVX with wide angle adaptor.

Thanks.

Not sure if you are just asking about any adapter but here's a full frame still from a music video I worked on recently using a HVX200/Letus Extreme/24mm Nikon f2.8 lens:

Nicky that's actually a really good way to do the sharpness comparison instead of a chart.

Maybe I'll try that.

I'm impressed with the consistency of the edge-to-edge sharpness in these grabs, but overall they look slightly soft. Did you by any chance use a "compromised" focal point when you set up the Letus to make the edges sharper, or did you go for conventional, maximum center sharpness?

Nice, moody look btw. Love the sky/sea gradient/texture in the first one : )

Everything is a compromise when you don't have an AC :) I actually prefer the slightly soft feel because, to me, it's way more filmic. The Letus is capable of rendering very sharp frames, particularly with my XHA1 but most of the time that sharpness reminds me of video more than film so I guess it's all subjective. Keep in mind also that this is a still from the timeline and when it's in full motion, the sharpness is rendered differently and looks absolutely spot on to those who have seen it, including myself.

Also realize that the HVX is not a full HD camera. It's inability to render detail like the XHA1 was the major reason I decided not to get one but for narrative work, it's a beautiful thing.

Really nice shots, Im just about to commit to buying a wide angle lens for my LEX.

The 24mm doesnt seem as dramatic as I thought it would be, thats why I want to see some examples, its also hard to tell sometimes though... anyone else.

Anyone know more or less what the equivalent focal length of the HVX+Wide angle adaptor is? I think that would be dramatic enough as a Super-Wide.

Thanks.

Tamron 17mm-35mm 2.8~4 @ 17mm F4, HVX @ 27.3mm | 1/64ND | 180d Scene File 5

DISCLAIMER: The edge softness is from 17mm + Tamron. The Tamron zoom is NOT the best lens ever, and I have used the 17-35mm Nikon and it exhibits MUCH less edge softness @ 17mm F2.8.

This lens is bad-ass.

I know. S'why it stayed at Belair Camera and didn't come with me. Although, you know, you DO get what you pay for in most circumstances.

Those shots are pretty cool too, Im having trouble deciding between focal lengths -

Im thinking 35 and 24,
OR
28 and 18ish?

Wasnt the HVX at full wide 35mm equivalent?...

Like I said, its hard to see exactly from these pictures, Im a newcomer and buying a lens is a BIG deal for me - So maybe I should just wait for my Sony EX-1 + LEX and then go to photo stores and experiment and get exactly the look I want. Its just that I got ton of shoots all happening soon and I was hoping to be sorted by then:crybaby:

Im hoping 35 will do for normal undistorted wide, and then 24 for that HVX+wide adaptor look (Ive shot tons of HVX stuff with the wide adaptor and fancy it alot)

I'd go 24 personally unless you want wider than that. It's a good idea to go to your local cam shop to experiment with some lenses.

Ye... that 24mm shot of the lake seems pretty undistorted and undramatic to me...

maybe Im looking for 28 as a normal wide, and then something serious wide like 18mm.
