Fuji X-T3 released

The new pages in the manual don't tell you jack about the specific features per drone or gimbal, how it works, other than when the external device is switched on, control cedes to the external device.
Record start/stop and manual focus will make gimbal shooters happy. I don't don't know of a single person using the XT-3 on a drone although I would suspect someone does it.

Guess I'll have to eventually update and try it out although based upon my experience going from FW 2.0 to 3.01, that was the disaster that basically made AF not work right. So I may wait until January to see
if the new FW update then addresses the AF issues without breaking something else.

That's a positive piece of news that actually made me feel bad for Fuji: just after they fix the XT3 (if you believe the early-2020 firmware will truly fix AF issues) they'll be bringing out its successor? What a disgrace.

That's just Fuji Rumors, they aren't always very accurate with timing. They switched today to saying the announcement of the new camera will be in Feb or March. From what we have heard, totally unsubstantiated, is the XT-4, if it's called that, will just be an XT-3 with IBIS and few updates. Yawn. Not anything that would make me sell my XT-3 as long as they fix the AF.

If they added IBIS and fixed Af (oh yeah better battery and fix the 30 minute limit while we're at it), the XT3/4 would be my perfect hybrid camera. IBIS is a big deal to me

Won't be called X-T4, Fuji's naming convention is 1, 2, 3, 5, 7

IBIS, fixed auto focus and full size HDMI would do it for me.

I'll be surprised if they ever go full size HDMI, even though that's what they should do. Remember, go on any Fuji board and it's 98% still shooters. Still shooters are completely obsessed with weight and size (one guy the other day was whinging
how his 2.5lb XT-3 and XF16-55mm f/2.8 combo was TOO HEAVY, poor baby), I laughed quite a bit at that one. Small and light means that adding full size HDMI adds precious ounces and makes the body larger. Although if they add IBIS, the body will
be larger. It'll be interesting to see what happens. XT-3, other than the AF and a few nitpicks is such a great camera. I'm sure this new one will be better. For me, a win would be:

1. Repaired, better AF
2. Flippy Screen with higher nits
3. Waveform monitor
4. Ability to view F-Log shooting with a REC 709 viewing LUT during recording using the on board screen
5. Better battery life
6. Abolish 29:59 and 19:59 recording limits
7. Somehow squeeze out 4:2:2 10-bit without causing heat issues
8. Full Sized HDMI

If they hit more than five of these, I'll immediately sell my XT-3 for it. If not, I'll skip it.

There was a patent I think I saw posted up, of Fuji camera using CFexpress cards. That could be exciting. If they use CFexpress to enable raw recording internally (or at least a less compressed h264-based 10-bit 4:2:2 codec) that could be grand.

My biggest gripe with the X-T3 is that, having bought it for the internal 10-bit recording, the h265 is so difficult to work with that I basically only record externally anyway - which is a STRESSFUL process when you're dealing with stupid bloody micro-HDMI connectors.

I've already had three $70 Micro HDMI cables broken on shoots. Give them the slightest tap, and it's game-over.
