If you have Firefox, you can download FireFTP. I use it. Works well for me.

I use FileZilla server on my Windows box. I run ProFTPd on my Linux box.

I'm confused. Your router and ftp client software are giving you trouble, so you need new server software?

I used to use something back in the day called...i think it was called G6. Not 100% sure on that. it was G and then a number. Worked extremely well.

FileZilla is what i use for Client, and host on all my windows boxes (unless they have IIS)

As I suspected the problem I had was caused by an incompatibility between BulletProof FTP Server and the router. I switched to FileZilla Server and now everything is working fine.

Do you have port 20 blocked?

Do you have port 20 blocked?

nope - BulletProof didn't even work when I put the server computer in the DMZ and opened all the ports. some sort of conflict with the router that a lot of people are experiencing. But all other FTP Server software works fine with the exact same settings. too bad for BulletProof who will not be getting my money.
