FS100 dropouts with HVX

I've been scouring the boards to see if anyone has had this problem, but it doesn't seem like it. Wondering if anyone has got any ideas. I get a call informing me that two FS100 were acting up - there were dropouts. They were random, but clustered mostly towards the end of the clips (I think there were about 50 or so clips and the last 5 were all bad). One FS100 was worse than the other. There was about 79 minutes left on the really bad FS100.
I was told they switched firewires to see if it was that but the problem kept coming up. I got both back and was told to check out the really bad one. I've been putting it through its paces and it seems to work just fine for me. Possible user error? Just another random glitch from the Firestore? Any ideas would be helpful, just in case I encounter this again.

I had experienced problems with two of their drives on the same shoot. The first went bad half way through the day. The second was rushed in to replace the first, Then it started to have dropouts at the end of the day wen it was about half to 2/3 full. I talked to Focus about this issue. Their response was the drives are very unreliable after they are half full. They admitted that the rental drive was probably needing to be replaced after being formatted after every shoot it goes out on. In my opinion, Cinequipts drives should have been sent in or replaced. The problems I had occured on may 1st. If you had issues after that, Cinequipt was aware of the problems these two units were having.
After talking to Focus's Technicians, I feel these drives are the most unreliable form of aquisition out there!

Interesting....I guess I have been lucky with my firestore. But it does make sense that they would be less reliable as they approach being full. Most hard drives are like that. I guess I will download at lunch!

I also think people underestimate the destructive abilities of a bad firewire cable, or connection.

If anyone is looking to sell their firestore because they are going to P2 cards, let me know, as I am interested in buying a few more.

I'll sell you my brand new one (UPS has it right now) when the 32gb P2 cards come out. =-)

Seriously, though, if it doesn't perform the way I need it to, I may send it back or sell it off. It just seems like bad timing to buy any acquisition right now as 16GB aren't in stock yet, and the cost relative to 8GB makes the 8GB a very unattractive option. I thought I'd give the FS100 a try, at least.
