FS-100 Modding

Hello,

I thought of adding an 44pin-IDE to CompactFlash Adapter to my FS-100. The idea is to replace the hdd and be able to use (cold-)swappable CF-media. Has anyone tried that yet? I wanted to attach it so the CF-Slot will be accessible from the outside, right above the 15V power plug. It just seems so easy and practical...

looks to be doable. How is the hard drive attached though? Are you going to be disassembling the SSD that Sony offers as an add-on?

I meant the Firstore Focus FS-100. I wanted to get rid of the hdd and replace it with a CF-adapter. Right above the power plug I was going to cut out a small hole, to be able to plug in and take out the CF-cards. Although swapable hdd would be more economic...

I only played with an FS100 for a bit but I'm pretty sure the SSD is NOT using IDE to connect to the camera. I don't think anyone is (or has) manufactured SSD drives with IDE connectors. So I do not think that adapter will work on the camera.

Why bother with CF cards on that camera anyway? SD cards are much smaller, cheaper and just about every computer / laptop on the planet has an SD card reader now. (That is, unless you have a pile of CF cards already laying around.)
