Frzzi Sun Gun Question

I have been using a Frezzi Sun Gun 24 watt HMI in some Interior Design shots. I like using this light for it's 5600k output. All the interior shots have a high level of bluish outside light coming in and the HMI blends nicely with the warmer incandescent coming from the interior lamps. I also like the battery operation no extension cords and the HMIs put out no heat. But they just don't put out much light. I was wondering - What battery operated light puts out the most light? The sun Gun is 70 foot candels at 5 feet. Surely there are some portable lights that can produce more light without too much heat emitted? What about a frezzi mini fill 100watter ? Thanks if anyone can help.

Re: Frzzi Sun Gun Question

The mini fill 100-watt will be roughly the same amount of footcandles as the 24w HMI, but in a different color. So if you want blue light, the mini fill 100 will need CTB on it, which will drop its output down to about 25 watts... and HMI's are much more efficient, an HMI puts out 3 to 4 times as many lumens per watt as tungsten.

If you need orange/tungsten light, the mini fill 100w would produce about twice as much orange light as the HMI with CTO gel on it.

If you want a lot of output, look into the 250w 30v lights. A lot more expensive, and they need 30-volt batteries, but you'll have a lot more punch from them.
