From Vegas to After effect on a mac

I'm working on this video clip. A friend does the cutting in Vegas and another friend will do some effects and color in after effects on a mac. I wonder whats the best way to bring the files from one to the other. Would uncompressed avi be the good choice.
The original files are dvcpro hd 720pn imported in vegas using the raylight plugin.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Use Raylight's P2 Maker to make P2/MXF format files.

for some odd reason the p2 made with raylight under windows just come out as a black screen when imported in after effect.......anyhow installing quicktime for windows and rendering to uncompressed quicktime did the job.

Download the Avid DNxHD codec to export in intermediate form, install on both platforms, export in .mov through Vegas' quicktime component (select the right codec in there): http://avidtechnology.custhelp.com/...qid=77958&p_created=1238608931&p_sp=undefined
