From DVD to Vegas

How can I download media from a DVD into Vegas..I've done this before with a project I had on a mini-dv saved to dvd then to Vegas..but this particular DVD wont do it...Is this a problem with me not knowing how or just the DVD not being able to be copied..it is a religious DVD a pastor purchased and wanted me to makes some copies for him..thanks anyone that can help..

Super pain in the butt to import.

Best bet: get DVDShrink or Nero Recode, or whatever, and rip the DVD to hard drive. You can keep it full size/res, of course. No need to actually "shrink" or recode it.

But you need something to unscramble the commercial MPEG encoding and get it into something Vegas can read easily.

Notice...copyright infridgement is not to be taken lightly. That is why most commericially made DVD's have a FBI warning and have some type of macrovision protection. Not to mention most readers (including myself) would be standoffish on such a request for a workaround.
