From DVD to Vegas for edit?

My pastor gave me a DVD of a service he wants me to edit, just overlay some scriptures, names, numbers..etc..I need to know how do I import the info from DVD to Vegas and not have to have the DVD in when I want to open it and edit.. Everytime I go to open the file..Vegas reads "file missing" when I know I just created a folder and saved it..what am I doing wrong..am I saving it improperly..please help someone..this seems so pre-school and frustrating?

Depends on how you "saved" it.

Best thing to do is, before you even open Vegas, create a folder and then transfer the .vob files into it. THEN bring the .vob files into Vegas from THAT folder.

My guess is that you broght in the files from the DVD before you saved them to a folder.

If so, you may be able to right-click on them, choose "Replace," then navigate to the folder where you saved the files and choose the appropriate file.

An .mpg is all you're going to get from a DVD. You can convert it to an .avi, but you won't get a quality boost from it.
