Friday the 13th

Okay, so I just watched the reinvention of the 1980s classic and I must say that overall, I'M NOT DISAPPOINTED!

While techinically you couldn't call it canon, it was a good restart to the franchise. It definitely made Jason out ot be more than the stalking menace he was in previous films. No more walking catch-up. :crybaby: If you've seen the trailer where it's a dog's-eye of him running and then slashing downward onto someone...that **** is AWESOME!

The kills were a bit banal, but considering what he has to work with, Jason is a badass. One of the kills caught me off-guard since it's something we've never seen Jason do before (other than run and smile), and if you've seen the movie, I'm talking about the guy on the boat.

Now to hope for something equally gnarly when Billy Bob Thornton puts on the green and red sweater and the four-bladed glove.:Drogar-Love(DBG):

On topic: They just showed Bernie Mader on CNN with the Halloween theme playing...how does that go together?

I am not gonna get into details but I was highly expecting this film and well long story short I walked out a little more than halfway into the film :(

Since it was a Michael Bay production, did it have his signature lot's of explosions and gunfire? And were you serious about Billy Bob???

the only reason why michael bay takes part on this projects is because of the money it makes him, has anyone seen the stats for the film so far, here are some numbers:
the film costed about 15 million to make, it had an opening weekend of 45 million and will reach the 100 million mark in no time, so whoever invested in the film and produced, is laughing all the way to the bank right now, Michael bay is a very smart man who is making a ton of money from the movies he produces and from the movies he directs

all this info is on the imdb page by way

And were you serious about Billy Bob???

Thats the rumor from Ain't it Cool News...but who knows where Harry gets his info. I have read that it's a rumor, and I've read on other sites that it's for real. I guess time will tell. Personally, I think Thornton could play a gnarly Fred-o.

This remake was really a piece of **** but I didn't expect anything more. In the opening credits the cinematographer had ASC after his name so I thought there might be some good **** to learn from here, but the majority of 'action' shots were the classic 'zoom in, handheld = shaky = good composition' bullshit.

Jason being quick on his feet was really sick tho.

Most of the dialogue made me giggle which was good too.

+titties is good

I'm a pretty hardcore Friday the 13th fan. Jason is, and will always be, my favorite 80's killer. I saw the remake opening night, and after some reflection, it was, overall, a decent remake.

I had my problems with it, like everyone else I'm sure, but I think when put together, it made a remake that's worth watching.

I was never a huge Jason Fan, and even less so with each movie. Hack, stab, die, come back, repeat. Freddy on the other hand, was rather creative. Now with this new Friday the 13th, you are opening a whole new debate- slow Jason or fast Jason...

Jason was pretty quick in freddy vs jason if remember right. I could be wrong. I actually kind of liked that one. Probably because I'm an 80's kid. Those were the best years of my life.

I really liked it. It was a fun flick and I'm glad I saw it.

As for Jason running? He ran in parts 2 and 3, so it's not unheard of.

I absolutely hated it, they were searching for weed and came across crystal lake? wack, and I have no problem with Jason running, but also being able to shoot an arrow at someone driving a speed boat, as well as throwing an axe 100 ft.... get out of here, pick up a sharp object you find laying around, and go stab someone to death with it, none of this theatrical professional weapons expert ****.

atleast the dialogue was funny.

I just saw this last night...I thought it was awful.

It could have been decent. It could have been scary, for a start. There was like no horror, or even thriller imagery. It could have been chilling. There was no emotional connection with any characters, or Jason for that matter, there were obvious screw ups in the plot and things that were just not plausible.

The sex scenes were like something out of a high budget porn, and the dialogue was flat and boring.

The visual style of the film was boring to look at for the most part, especially all the night time stuff. And the music..Steve Jablonsky....WHY! I can understand the deadlines were tight but seriously....that was a cop out score if I ever heard one...it was worse than a low budget TV show score.

Easily the worst film I have seen at the cinema in months. I have no problem with horror films, they don't have to be intellectual or smart or anything for me to like them, but this just sucked - it was like watching semi-pretty cardboard cut outs move across the screen and get cut up. And then it ended.

Just saw it and it's a below your average teen slasher movie. Here is the story. You have a bunch of good looking, weed smoking, and hormone overflowing college kids who wonder into Crystal Lake and get slaughtered by jason who is still pissed off after almost 30 years.

Two thumbs down for me.
