i was considering gettin a frezzi mini on-camera light to replace my bescor 50/100w on camera light. Only issue is that id rather not buy another battery pack. Both are 4-pin xlr adapters and im just wondering if their would be an issue with battery brands? Please hook me up with some knowledge...

I bought the pag C6 Paglight, and let me tell you it is the best on camera light i have ever seen or used. It comes fully equipped with barn doors, built in gels and softeners, also it does come with the 4 xlr pin battery pack. It is really damn powerful i think i paid around 350 for it and it has a lifetime warranty so it is really sweet. I guess that doesnt really answer your question but i just thought you should consider that one before going with the frezzie.

a lifetime warranty? wow..
we broke TWO dingy sony lights this year..due to the cheapo plastic parts and operator defects. they were supposed to be backup lights and almost all are dead now.

does it have a dimmer? the pag6

Ditto on the Pag C6 lights. I've used mine for a bunch of shoots since getting it a few months ago.

As an aside, the light can be a bit hard - even with the built in diffuser in place. If you go the Pag route, consider buying the optional diffuser kit for softer light.
