Well i did it! I purchased a Micro frezzi dimmer 35 watt light.. XLR power.. In addition I bought a Power Pro plus NRG battery belt 65wh.. I assume it will power my light for 1:30 to 1:45 min.

Has anyone used these products? would like your input.. I tried to get a pre purchase input here and other places too no avail.. Seems like a nice set up though. i should get it by Friday.. Ordered from EVS.. good ol' Rush...

Re: Frezzi micro fill

I'm using it mostly at wedding dinners. its great. I'm running it on a np1s battery. no xlr. how heavy is your NRG batt belt ?

I'm thinking of the filters in the future. I dunno. do I ?

Re: Frezzi micro fill

Wes,

Thanks for the feedback. the specs said that the np1 will only power that light for about 45 minutes.. a receptionwould be a couple of hours or more of ight i canonly imagine.. the belt is in transit..specs said 4.8 lbs.. what is that battery like ?  Carry over shoulder? Did you get the dimmer model?? use it alot? i htink Ill get the filter set too.. filter/barndoors

Re: Frezzi micro fill

Used mini Frezzi with dimmer, powered by Cool-Lux belt.
Shot wedding last weekend.
Be assured you will not regret your purchase!

Great..im excited That damn batttery is charging over in the corner.. 14 hours.. I got the power pro + I think.. 12v 65wh

Was that one battery good enough to get you through the whole reception? It is rated for about 1.5 hr per my deduction..

Re: Frezzi micro fill

I wonder if that battery belt could fit in a backpack or something. Somebody like me would have the belt then have the DVrig Pro strapped to me, I would be all weighed down! LOL

I'm practicing multiple quoting here, so bear with me..

one is definitely not enough. I have two and am ordering another one. What's up with the charging time..it does take forever. With 3 batteries, I'll be charging for a few days.

if you are using any tools that requiring any bit of balancing, you need to consider where you add your batteries..if you put a belt in a back pack, it would throw off your balance. better probably to be on your waist. I recently got the frezzi light because I needed to lighten up to balance a stabilizer-type device.

battery goes in my waist-pouch. yes on the dimmer..still wondering if I need it. I really didn't use the dimming--and it yellows out while you dim..which is partly why you need the dichroic filter.

Re: Frezzi micro fill

Pooh are you using the NP1 battery? Im using cool lux.. I still may need an extra but it should be as good as 2 NP1's

Re: Frezzi micro fill

I'm using the NP-1 for the Frezzi micro. I was using 2 bricks for each wedding, but recently bought another one, just in case-as I always ran out of both. If the DVX was better in low light, might not need the lights as much, but I hate DVN..Frezzi is overpriced, don't you think though? good stuff, but $40 for a pouch? $150 for barn doors? $105 for a small soft box? geez. The replacement bulbs, thank God, are cheap, but all else..and you got to love that 14 hour trickle charge!! ug

Your cool lux belt-which model? most of them give you MORE juice than 2 np-1 batts, even more if you are using a 20 watt or dimmthe 35 watt bulb. I like their belts..but my intention with this Frezzi system was to stay as light as possible.

Re: Frezzi micro fill

NP - 1 equals 32 wh rated at 45 min. for 35 watt

I have the power pro + its rated at 65wh or maybe 1.5 hrs of 35 watt use. it was 350$ + 240$ for the frezzi.. 590$

Frezzi kit with NP1 was 470$ + extra battery about 580$

So its a wash basically when you take into acount the juice ya get fro the price..

I thought now I have something moreso versatile as far as useability.

NRG sells the extra battery for 200 $ it velcros onto the NRG belt. They also have a rapid charger its another 200$.. 1.5 hour charge ability

The NP1 didnt have as im aware of a fast charge system available.

Overpriced?? Yes I agree... However I was unable to find a comparable product at a better price.. Like everything else I guess...
