Fresnel lens on a Britek or other generic open face?

Is it possible (and/or worthwhile) to add a Fresnel lens or any other PAR glass to one of the Britek open faced lights, or any other generic (non-Fresnel) for that matter?

It depends if you think having the quality of light produced by a fresnel lens is worthwhile.

A fresnel vs an open face vs a PAR light have completely different qualities.

The open face light produces very hard light, which is easy to cut. It is also not the most efficient use of light as far as output goes.

A fresnel lens disperses the light so you have a more focused and efficient beam. It is slightly harder to cut because it tends to make softer shadows.

A PAR lens primarily refers to the light's reflector - a parabolic reflector that is extremely efficient at focusing light. A PAR unit comes in several variations: medium spot, narrow spot, etc. Most PAR units are self contained reflector and lens combinations that make up the "globe" in the unit. There are items such as PAR cans that are just simply a housing for a single tungsten PAR globe, and there are other units such as a 9-light that use 9 separate PAR globes in one housing. HMI PARs come with several lens choices from wide to no lens (being extremely narrow).

Ultimately I don't think it would pay to modify an open face unit for something it was never made for.
