Freezing Frames

Can anyone help me. I need help in trying to freeze frames. I have some footage of a group of people dancing. How can I freeze certain people, and have everyone else froze? Here is a music video to describe what I'm talking about. Near the beginning, a guy is dancing in the middle of a circle, then he jumps and the frame freezes. To make a freeze frame: Modify -> Make Freeze Frame

Is that what you mean?

I watched part of the video yesterday and saw a bunch of simple freeze frames at the beginning so I thought that was what you meant. Today I watched a little further and I think I saw the effect you're talking about.

The kid in the middle of the circle was rotoscoped for a few frames, isolated from the background, re-inserted in the same position on a new layer. The frame freezes, and he continues to dance on top of the freeze frame. You can even see him frozen in mid air in the background as well.

Just requires a little roto work to get him to peel away from the background for however long you want.
