Freeze Frame

Is there any way to do the freeze frame technique (the same technique used in Goodfellas) within the Vegas 6 editing program? The camera that I'm using is a DVX 100B (I don't think you can do this effect within the camera or can you?).

Use a Velocity Envelope. You can change the velocity to 0% for freeze frame.

Another way is to simply come to the frame where you want to freeze. Copy a snapshot thru your preview window tools button. Make sure the setting of the preview when copying the snapshot is set to best. Then ull get an ordinary jpeg or whatever of that frame. Now just cut the clip at the same point you grabbed the snapshot. Then go into import and lay that jpeg after this clip and stretch it as you would any jpeg or image file to last the duration you want the frozen frame. But with Jeditdv's idea you can even slow down and then freeze. Its a matter of preference or what your trying to achieve ultimately.

i used to always use the jpeg method until i discovered the velocity way. much easier. :thumbup:
