Thanks in advance to all who reply. I'm pretty new to Vegas 5. I need to freeze frame for about 2 seconds and can't figure out how to do it. Help please!!!

You can use the velocity envelope on a video event to do this. Right click on the video event, click on Insert/Remove Envelope, then click Velocity. You will see a line on the event with a square node at the left. If you right click on the node, then click Set to, you can set it to 0 velocity. This will cause a freeze frame. You can also add other nodes to the envelope so that you can start, stop, slow down, speed up, etc.
