Freeze Frame Capturing Issue

Hey all,

I've looked through the forum, but can seem to find a thread that tackles this particular problem:

I'm capturing footage into FCP from my DVX (yes, yes I know I shouldn't, but I'm poor--its my only option currently) and so far things have been going smoothly, but last night I was running into issues with capturing long clips (usually about 25-45 minutes in length). Basically, the whole process SEEMS to happen perfectly (no indication that anything is going wrong from the preview window of the incoming footage), but when I open up the clip afterward, it hits a certain point where the audio keeps going but the image freezes for the rest of the clip.

So what's going on? Is this my camera's way of saying I should shell out the money to go capture from the local film forum's DV deck? Is it a bug in FCP4? I have the slightest idea...

Any help is as always much appreciated,

Is your Sequence the set up the same as the footage?

If you use your camera to capture, at least buy a Mini-DV tape rewinder. They're great.

I should also mention that I'm capturing from 83MQ tapes for this project, and that I recorded a CD release party after the capturing issue began, but the recording went smoothly (although I used 63PQ's for it). So I don't think it's a camera issue...
