Freelancers - when's your busiest time of year?

Looking to go out on my own and was wondering what time of year people consider to be their busiest?
would be great to get a North American perspective on when I should ramp up my marketing efforts.

Thanks all!

I went freelance this year after 13 yrs with a broadcaster. I finally launched my new company in January which was slow as hell so for me each month since has been busier than the last.

I imagine summer will be really busy and being in the branded commercial/corporate realm seasonal changes and corresponding holidays will be busy points.

March and November (usually broadcast sweeps time, lots and lots of 'usual' DP/ops are busy, plenty of shopping around as a result)

May to June, December (peculiar to my science-y work, coincides with end-of-semeseter breaks and 'I have to get this done before grant money runs out' rush)

January always, ALWAYS sucks. February is usually eh. Usually a September lull as well.

Whatever month I schedule vacation with the family, I will always, ALWAYS get a dozen calls for work the moment I pack the Cruiser. Also, during any slow month, all I need to do is work up my motivation to begin working on a personal or volunteer project and the calls will start rolling in.

^ This! It has got to the point that anytime I really need some work, I go around jokingly telling people I'm going to go on
vacation.....
