For those producers out there that higher freelancers to shoot and edit work, I was wondering what your take is for when a client asks about freelancer's last names, websites, company names etc. To me it seems a bit inappropriate for a client to be asking specifics about the people that work for you regardless of reason (other than wanting to see work from them.) On top of that, I would be concerned because of course there is a markup on my freelancers and for good reason (I'm mananging them and making sure everything operates smoothly as well as liasoning the relationship) But to a client that visits a freelancers website and sees a rate of half of what I'm charging them, they might not see it that way. Am I being silly? How would you respond to a client that asks for your editors contact information?
