Perhaps this has already been discussed? Most camera's I've seen/used have a useless strap shipped with them. The DVX 100 comes with one too. But, unlike most (all others?), the DVX strap is attached in a way where the camera is level when the strap is held in the middle. I found that with a little practice, I can walk and get fairly steady shots of the camera moving as little as a fraction of an inch off the ground, feet walking, tires turning, etc. With a bit of finger work in the middle of the strap, the camera can tilt up, over an object and back down in quite smooth motions.

Hey, it's free, included and can get you some interesting shots. I mentioned this because it was a long time before I even thought about attaching the strap. Once I discovered that the camera hangs level, the gears started turning.

Actually, the camera is as level, or not, front to back as you like. Left to right, it has a very slight tilt to the tape side. But with the LCD display open, which you want anyway for this, it is quite level.

Cool. Never even thought about that. I've tried this with my DVRigPro. They include a strap for "Low Mode". Little tough to get it really smooth and level, maybe it'd be easier with just the camera strap! Thanks for the tip.
