Free alternatives to Adobe Creative Suite

That list must be satire

Virtual Dub is NOTHING like premiere pro. Vdub is NOT an online editor. It is meant to handle one file at a time. It can only trim the front or end of a clip and save a copy out. Since it works file by file there is no bin or timeline you can't use it as an editor.

While we're on the subject of free alternatives though, have you guys played around with Open Office? Pretty slick for the price tag ($0.00)... I'd say it's much more competitive with Microsoft Office, than the makeuseof "free creative suite" is compared to CS3...

I find it interesting that they list "Photo.net" for the Photoshop replacement when GIMP is free and is the most widely used Photoshop replacement. It can even use Photoshop plugins.

I'm a longtime PS user (since v4), but for those interested, here's the link.

If they had mentioned blender I would have been impressed.

Blender started as a free 3d modeling program to ray trace with VUE. It now has its own renderer and particle systems, as well as:

A real time game engine with physics and fps gameplay code.
