Frame Rate Conversion HELP!!!!

I've just been handed a music video to edit and I have a problem. It was shot on an HVX at 720/60p. The problem is it should have been shot at 24fps as the client wants it to look like film/24p. I have no idea why the DP shot it at 60P but I have to fix it. I dropped the footage on a 23.98 timeline and it plays ok and looks like 24p but it's kind of jumpy. I assume it's because an odd number of frames are being thrown out to reduce the framerate (3:2??).

My question is, is there a good way to convert this footage to 24p to minimize or eliminate the jumpyness?

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I did search but didn't find this scenario.

Only 3 options that I know of:

1) Drop the footage into a 23.98 sequence and render. This is what I do to get 60p footage to work with my 23.98 footage. Doesn't look bad to me.

2) www.nattress.com. FILM EFFECTS or STANDARDS CONVERTER. Demos available.

3) Compressor - Advanced Conversion

Nattress only works with interlaced footage. Not sure what you mean by 60p... really? I've done the compressor mode and it works-ish. MUCH better than the drop in sequence method... yes... makes it look VERY jumpy.

by 60p i mean that it was shot at 720/60p, not 720/24pn/p/pa. framerate is 59.94. i guess the cool thing is if i want to make any of the footage slomo i can just conform to 23.98 using cinema tools.

SO you actually shot 60 progressive frames a second? Hell - to slow mo you can conform to just about ANYTHING!!

yes. 60 progressive frames per second (60p). however, i didn't shoot it. i am only editing. i would have shot at 720/24pn and overcranked as needed. the problem is everything was shot 60p which sucks for a number of reasons such as huge storage footprint, increased load on me having to convert everything, etc.

conforming these 60p clips to 23.98 gives nice smooth 40% slomo which is nice but not really the proper way to shoot slomo on the hvx.

i just found out tonight that it was the dp's first time with the hvx and he was kinda green in general. that might explain why the white balance is off on every shot giving everyone orange skin. good times....

yes i am. however, i also just got myself future gigs as this guy's dp simply because i know where the white balance button is :-)
