FPS question

I was given some mov files that were shot at 3fps. Is there a way to have it play at normal speed rather then what looks like fast forward by putting it into a 3fps sequence?

Slow it down on the timeline (Command + J), basically you will be duplicating frames. You could also try un-conforming the footage in Cinema Tools but I have never tried to go the direction you are going, not sure if it will work.

Thanks for the response. The fcp time change makes it look very choppy. I was wondering if there is any trick to changing sequence settings to slow it down?

I wish I had better advice for your NB1.

I think the bottom line is that you are trying to stretch three frames in to twenty four. Each frame is playing eight times! Worse yet, if you have a 30p or 60p time base, then you are duplicating them 10 or 20 times.

You could try frame blending, but its not going to look normal. Sorry, might simply need to re shoot at a normal frame rate and shutter speed.
