Foundry Rolling Shutter plug-in

Great idea, you wonder why they don't do this with the in camera processing.

Nice band for your username by the way

just hold the gah damn camera still and your rolling shutter problem is fixed. now pay me $500 dollars for the most informative lesson of the day.

Now see how that method works when you have extremely fast moving objects and they look all weird from rolling shutter. (Helicopter blades come to mind)

I might get to try this out as part of fxphd, will be sure to let you guys know how it is if I do. I don't think $500 is that much for the plug-in, I mean if it's the difference between a once in a lifetime shot working and not working... Plus this can be used on cameras with more pronounced rolling shutter (D90!).

eh, the gh1's rolling shutter is as bad or as good as the RED ONE. very similar. however, if you're using the MK2 or D90, then nothing but a steady hand the plugin can fix it. but i'd be more worried about the codec breaking up than rolling shutter at this point with the gh1. but I do see what you're talking about. but nothing to really worry about.

I think if your shots are going to be that important then you should be shooting in a way as to prevent the possibility of having to deal with those issues. You just need to know the camera's limitations and then compensate.

$500 is still too much. The entire FCS suite is only $1000. The entire Adobe Production suite is $1700. After Effects by itself is about $1000 and they want half that for just one plugin? That's just ridiculous.
