I'm so sick of online businesses. There seriously need to be some harsh punnishments enforced on these companies. Maybe I'm just mad becasue I just went through a whole fiasco with Tiger Direct through Amazon.com. Absolutly last time I ever deal with Tiger direct, and Amazon is on my **** list right now too. :(
I'm so sick of reading about people being ripped off with seemingly no consequence to the dealer. Obviously these reseller ratings don't defer too many people because they keep going back :(

Well, I'm not defending anyone here - but to be fair I think people are much more likely to write a review when they've had a bad experience as opposed to a good one.

Oh absolutly, but you can always tell when people start writing similar reviews then you know it's bad. If someone writes a review like, I expected the package on thursday and it didn't come till monday, well fine, no big deal. But when people consecutively give poor service and sell items that are out of stock (just happend to me) then that is just wrong. I will never buy from any place that has these types of reviews. If it happend once, or twice fine, but if you start to see a pattern then you just know that this company is out to rip people off. SOrry for venting, still a little ticked right now. :)

Just for shits and giggles check out EVS and B & H photo. B&H has some negatives but they actually care that they get them and do everything they can to resolve them. That is when you can tell a company actually cares about the customer rather than just making a quick buck.

I've ordered from Amvona with good results. They were a little slow, but I was in no rush. It was a good deal in the end.

But it is difficult to smack the crap out of someone online.

re:Amvona

I'm not defending anyone here... but at the same time, all of my transactions with them have been flawless. They do most of their business via eBay from what I gather & that's where I ordered.

I've bought C-stands and backdrops from them-- great prices & everything has shipped reasonably quickly. They've got an extensive eBay history; you should look it up.

Don't get me wrong-- I'll go through EVS, B&H or Markertek for most of what I need. But Amvona's eBay stuff always goes reasonably cheap, so sometimes it's a great resource.

And again-- I'm not shilling for them. Outside of being a customer of theirs in the past, I have no connection to them. But I've always been happy & transactions have always been hassle-free.

To lump them into the same catagory as any of these other websites that have questionable legitamacy is 100% wrong, in my opinion.

I have also purchased C-Stands from Amvona's auctions on eBay. Their shipping system is just a bit slow, but they keep you informed the whole way thru. The stands are very high quality in my opinion. I probably wouldnt get any of their other stands or lights, but the C-Stands are a bargain.

If you eBay a stand you are probably looking at around $30 for the auction and another $30 for the shipping. Yes, I think they definately are jacking up the prices of the shipping, but overall it is still a great deal.

I have some stuff from them off eBay. Don't buy from site. - Pretty good value if you can get it a low bid. Have to be patient, sometimes people bid too high. I got some carbon fiber legs for $30 but I have seen fools bid them up to $150 - And as noted the shipping is slooooow as hell! I got a softbox yesterday that I paid for 4 1/2 weeks ago!
