Found my movie online for FREE

[mainstreetprod]

I shot a faith based movie last year and had some success in distribution. Today I googled the title just to see what popped up and this came up:

http://www.watchthisfree.com/movies/2010/class-of-91/

I didn't want to risk a virus by downloading the file. Anyone know if someone can actually watch the movie here (and at a bunch of other similar sites)? Have I been pirated?

my virus software doesnt like that site, so i didnt go out of my way to visit it, but i did find this info about the site in general:
Site report about Watchthisfree.com. The site receives about 36,743 unique visitors per day. Its current Alexa global ranking is #10,383. Watchthisfree.com earns the owner approximately $50 USD each day and has the estimated overall value of $232,583 USD. The site is using Google Analytics for visitor analysis. The domain has a valid PageRank of 0, its server hosted in Bucharest, Romania, the exact geo location is 44.433300 / 26.100000 and its IP address is 86.120.13.95.

and here is the link the the rest of the page i got that from, fyi. http://sitelatitude.com/watchthisfree.com

it does kinda look like you might have gotten aaarrggh'ed by some romanian pirates. no idea what else they have up, but chances are you are in very good company.

I found one of mine on line as well. A company in Cyrpus had it. It had 200,000 downloads.

Mine too. Sigh.

guys, sites like this rarely have your movie. everything I've got listed on imdb (and some are in development and don't even exist yet) are listed on this site as being available for download. they use movie databases to fake an inventory. when you click 'download' it puts an exe on your hard drive and seems to add a download manager bar to your web browser that probably includes spam advertising. or worse.

Zak-

Does this happen on both PC and Macs? I've never worried about surfing the web on my Mac and wondered if there is a threat.

Edit: Answered my own question- looks like this particular exe file is for Microsoft.

Yes, most of the sites don't have the movies, however, I've been informed by some contacts who have seen our latest movies "STEP OFF" at download sites along with several of the major new releases.

As far as what can be done? I don't know.

As an aside "Step Off" can be legally found at Redbox, Netflix, Blockbuster Online, and On Demand on most cable systems (comcast, Cox, Time Warner, Direct TV).
